The seminar is based on the book "Finite Element Exterior Calculus" by Doug Arnold (Link provided via Kusss). The main spirit of this book is to reveil tight connections between different fields of mathematics, e.g., algebraic topology, functional analysis, differential geometry, numerical methods, and to explore these connections in order to gain insight into the construction and analysis of finite element methods. The presentation in the book is rather self-contained and most of the material should be accessible for students with a solid foundation in analysis, linear algebra, and functional analysis.
We expect well-prepared presentations and active scientific discussion.
